Answer and Explanation:

(1) Orange juice is a heterogeneous mixture. A heterogeneous mixture contains particles of varying shapes and sizes. They do not have a uniform composition throughout. Orange juice is a heterogeneous mixture as you can see solid particles(pulp).

(b)Tap water is a homogeneous mixture. A homogeneous mixture is where the components are distributed uniformly in a mixture. Tap water has all its components(minerals and gases) dissolved uniformly such that it appears as a single phase.

(2)(a) An aqueous solution of an electrolyte are substances whose water solution conduct electricity.

(b) When an electric current is passed through a salt solution, it dissociates into positive and negative ions which can move freely in the solution. That's how they conduct electricity

(c) Sugar water does not conduct electricity because there are no freely moving ions present.

(3) see attached image

(4) A solution is a homogeneous mixture of a solute dissolved in a solvent. When sugar is dissolved in water, the dissolved sugar is evenly mixed in water such that it cannot be separated from water through settling or filtration method. Whereas when sand is mixed in water, the sand can settle at the bottom after sometimes which can be separated through filtration completely hence proving that its not a solution.

(5) (a) 14-karate gold:  solvent- gold  solute- copper + silver

(b) corn syrup: solvent- water        solute- sugar

(c) carbonated or sparkling water: solvent- water     solute-carbondioxide

(6) If you allow a container of sea water to sit in the sun, the liquid(water) will be evaporated, leaving behind salt, which appears in crystal form.
