Plagiarism is stealing/copying/taking someone else's work (music, art, writing, designs, etc.) and using them claiming their yours. Piracy, cribbing, and appropriation are all very similar to Plagiarism. An example would be if I had to write an essay, and copy things from websites, and submit it, that would be plagiarism. Then the teacher would find out and I would get into trouble. Consequences can be as minor as a in school punishment, or going to jail. Plagiarism on a higher level, can be counted as a misdemeanor with fines, or in some places as a felony, with jail time. If you cite your sources (like in a bibliography) then you are showing where parts of the work came from and giving credit. So, dont plagiarize, because its stealing. Be honest and cite your sources.
