Respuesta :

Catholic church would not have advocated for the crusades because they knew the long term result of them because crusades divided the land in between Christian and recaptured their holy land from the authority of Muslim.  Roman catholic church suffered due to the crusades because it supported Protestantism.

Explanation:

Crusades worked in favor of Christianity but not for the Roman Catholic church. They supported Protestantism. They started war with Muslim for again gaining their holy land which was once captured by Muslim. But crusades promoted autocracy where king had the supreme power to control everything.

Due to the crusades battle was started between different religious group in Western Europe and the whole country suffered for it and many soldiers killed there. All the Muslim occupied territories again regained by crusades.

My thoughts about the Catholic Church advocating for Religious Crusades if they knew the long-term result of them is:

  • They would not have participated in the crusades if they knew the long term results

According to the given question, we are asked if we believed that the Roman Catholic Church would have actively participated in religious crusades if they knew the long term effects of it.

As a result of this, we can see that Crusades were a religious war which they sent the Knights to fight for them against their enemies, particularly the Muslims which led to great loss of life and property as they supported Protestantism which led to autocracy.
