Answer:

We know that affirmative action is a program that provides all the basic opportunities to the underprivileged minority groups and communities. This program brings(or tries to bring) them into the mainstream of society so that they can also contribute in the society by developing themselves.

Pros of affirmative action are

1. It promotes cultural and racial diversity.

2. It reduces socio-economic difference in the society.

Cons of affirmative action are

1. It encourages discrimination in other ways like quota/reservation system.

2. Caste/racial/economic biases will increase.

Yes I believe that affirmative actions are still needed because our society is still not free from various discriminations and stereotypes based upon race, cast, colour even gender. Few classes of our society are still underprivileged. Therefore, we need affirmative actions.

Wage, gender and racial discrimination at the workplace means that people are treated differently based on their caste/ race, they are paid less or more depending upon their gender i.e. they are male or female. Some are given more opportunities and some are less. The respect their deserve is also judge by their appearance and social status.

By making effective strategies government can prevent these forms of discriminations. For example

1. By giving quota to extremely underprivileged and deprived people to connect them with country's progress and mainstream.

2. There should be a strict punishment policy for those who promote/support any kind of discrimination.

3. Public awareness programs and involving such issues in syllabus of students can greatly help in curbing such problems.

Answer:

Affirmative action was designed for the promotion of vocational and educational access to minority groups that are underprivileged. It helped some certain minority group to attend schools or pursue careers they would in normal case, not be able to pursue. Conversely, affirmative action was also seen as reverse discrimination due to its quota-based implementation.

Pros of Affirmative Action

It eliminates stereotyping

People, regardless of their status, are allowed to chase their dreams

Cons of Affirmative Action

It promotes reverse discrimination because a certain minority is favored over others because of their status instead of checking whether they are qualified or not

It lessens achievements obtained by the said minority group because it is assumed that their position is because of the affirmative action rather than skilled based or talent.

Affirmative action is needed today because it has been successful in the past in bridging the gap in employment and wages, promoting diversity, and access to education for the minority group.

Wage gender and race discrimination in the workplace is a form of discrimination that is based on gender and race as it concerns the wage received for work done. While some employers may feel that women should receive lesser wages than their male counterpart even if they are on the same level, some others will pay lesser amount to minority groups and higher to others even though they do the same kind of work.

Employers must prevent these forms of discrimination by first:

1. Creating a diverse work environment where everyone is employed according to merit and regardless of race, gender, or any form of discrimination

2. Subject every act of discrimination in the workplace to severe consequence that may even lead to sack

3. Support campaigns that discourage discrimination of any form for schools and other public places
