You can either use substitution or elimination.
Substitution:
y= 2x+ 4
108=34x+y
So you would plug in the numbers that the equation says that y equals.
108=34x + (2x+4)
And then you solve the equation like normal so you would get y= 2.89 but you stilll need to find x.
So you would ply your y into either of the equations.
2.89= 2x+4
And then you’d solve and get x= -1.45
So your solution would be
(-1.45, 2.89)
Elimination is if you have something like this..
-2x+3y =26
2x+8y= 14
And because the x’s are opposite you can eliminate them and just cross them out and you add everything else...
11y=14
Then you would solve like normal and get y=1.27 and you would continue like you did substitution. If the equation isn’t set up like this you will have to do some multiplying to make it equal
Eg.
x+3y = 28
3x-9y=56

You would multiply everything in the top row by -3 to be able to eliminate and you would get this....

-3x-9y= -84
3x-9y= 56
And then you would solve

Hope this helps!
