If this is what you mean...

So (2x+4y)+(-2x+3y) = 5+9

Eliminate Method (2x-2x = 0 we gonna eliminate x)

[tex]7y=14\\y=2[/tex]

Then substitute y in any equations (Do not substitute in both.) For me, I'd substitute in 2x+4y = 5 (You can substitute in -2x+3y = 9 instead.)

[tex]2x+4(2)=5\\2x+8=5\\2x=5-8\\2x=-3\\x=-\frac{3}{2}[/tex]

So x = -3/2 and y = 2
