Respuesta :
h = 2 makes the system of linear equations true.
What is system of linear equations?
"A system of linear equations is usually a set of two linear equations with two variables."
What is linear equation?
"A linear equation is an equation in which the highest power of the variable is always 1. It is also known as a one-degree equation."
We have
h + c =2.25...................(1)
h - c = 1.75....................(2)
Solving equations (1) and (2)
From equation (1)
c = 2.25 - h...................(3)
For eliminating c, Substitute h = 2.25 - c in equation (2)
h - c = 1.75
⇒h - (2.25 - h) = 1.75
⇒h - 2.25 + h = 1.75
⇒2h = 1.75 + 2.25
⇒2h = 4
⇒h = [tex]\frac{4}{2}[/tex]
⇒h = 2
Substitute h = 2 in equation (3)
c = 2.25 - h
⇒c = 2.25 -2
⇒c = 0.25
Now we have to check h = 2 and c = 0.25 makes the system of linear equations true or not
Substitute h = 2 and c = 0.25 in equation (1)
L.H.S = h + c = 2+0.25
=2.25 (R.H.S)
Therefore , h = 2 makes the system of linear equations true.
