Great basin is actually made up of several small basins. The Great basin is a geographical area between the Sierra Nevada mountains on the west, the Rocky Mountains on the East and the Snake River on the North and the Sonoran Deserts to the south. About 90% of the state of Nevada is in the Great Basin.
