Respuesta :

Equations with like terms are solved by combining the like terms

Solution:

Given that,

How do you solve equations with like terms

Like terms are terms that has same variables with same exponents and same or different coefficients

Example :

2x and 3x

[tex]4x^2 \text{ and } 5x^2[/tex]

Consider a equation,

[tex]1x^2 + 5x + 2x^2 + 6x[/tex]

Here, like terms are 5x and 6x

also [tex]1x^2 \text{ and } 2x^2[/tex]

Combine the like terms by adding ( or subtracting as per given equation ) the coefficients

[tex]1x^2 + 5x + 2x^2 + 6x = 1x^2 + 2x^2 + 5x+6x\\\\1x^2 + 5x + 2x^2 + 6x = 3x^2 + 11x[/tex]

Thus the equation with like terms is solved
