Written in y=mx+b form: m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.First you need to use the two points to find the slope, the formula is [tex]m=\frac{y_{2}- y_{1}}{x_{2} -x_{1}}[/tex].

[tex]m=\frac{7-2}{-5-5}=\frac{5}{-10}=-\frac{1}{2}[/tex]

So now to find the y-intercept, You can use either or of the (x,y) points since the answer will be the same, but for this I'm going to use (5,2).

[tex]b=2-(-\frac{1}{2})(5)=\frac{9}{2}[/tex]

Now that we have the slope and the y-intercept, we can put it together to make the equation [tex]y=-\frac{1}{2} x+\frac{9}{2}[/tex].

Hope this helps, now you know the answer and how to do it. HAVE A BLESSED AND WONDERFUL DAY! As well as a great rest of Black History Month! :-)
