Which of the following CANNOT diffuse across a capillary wall to or from the surrounding interstitial fluid? Which of the following CANNOT diffuse across a capillary wall to or from the surrounding interstitial fluid? lipid-soluble substances proteins oxygen and carbon dioxide monosaccharides and amino acids

Respuesta :

Answer: proteins, monossacharides and amino acids

Explanation:the cell membrane encloses the cytoplasm of a cell, thus it is a protective covering for the cell.

It's basic structure is a phospholipid bilayer.the plasma membrane consists of proteins and lipids.one end of the phospholipids is water soluble (hydrophilic).the other end is water insoluble (hydrophobic),as it consists of fatty acids.in membranes, the hydrophobic ends points towards each other, while the hydrophilic end points towards the exterior.

Some non polar materials can easily pass through the lipid bilayer of the membrane.the ability of these materials to pass through depends on their solubility in oil and their size.water can also easily pass through.

Other materials such as glucose, proteins, amino acids cannot pass through due to their large size.

Some ions cannot also pass through by simple diffusion.

As a result, they require carrier proteins embedded in the cell membrane to carry them across.
