log6(6^9) -log6(x+8) = 8 

log6[(6^9)/(x+8)] = log6(6^8)

    6^9
----------- = 6^8
  x+8

6^9 = 6^8(x+8)  divide both sides by 6^8

6 = x+8

x = - 2
