The radius of the base is 7 cm. What is the height?

Answer is not 3.18, I've already tried that.

Answer:

The height is 10cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume [tex]V[/tex] of a cylinder with base radius [tex]r[/tex] and height [tex]h[/tex] is given by

[tex]V= \pi r^2h[/tex].

The volume of the cylinder we are given is [tex]V= 490\pi\:cm^3[/tex], and the radius of the base is [tex]r=7cm[/tex]; therefore, we have

[tex]490\pi = \pi (7^2)h[/tex]

solving for [tex]h[/tex] we get:

[tex]h= \dfrac{490\pi }{7^2\pi } \\\\h = \dfrac{490}{49} \\\\\boxed{h= 10cm}[/tex]

The height of the graduated cylinder is 10cm.
