Note that when the carrots was sold out, it was removed from the hypoyinic environment (which was a result of spraying the carrots in the store with distilled water) promoting the process of osmosis (movement of water via a semi-permeable membrane from where there is a higher concentration of water to where there is a lower concentration of water)to diffuse water from within the carrot resulting in a resultant wilt and loss of weight.
