Answer:
In the texts they both have the purpose to show the reader how Benjamin Franklin had discovered electricity. In the texts they both talk about what he was doing when he discovered electricity. The purpose of the first text was to be more straightforward with how Benjamin Franklin had discovered electricity for example in the first sentence it start off with “In 1752, Benjamin Franklin had a theory that lightning was electricity.” The author uses facts like when and what. The second text had started of with “I saw a shocking thing last night that I can’t quite explain.” That leads to the reader getting hooked and wanting to know more about what happened. In the first text the point of view is third person because the author uses “he” as in Benjamin Franklin whole in the second text the point of view is first person because the author uses such languages as “I” or “my”. The second text gets the reader to be curious what is happening while the first text gets the reader to be knowledgeable.
