Two inventions that came about during World War II were the jerrycan and medical penicillin.
Jerrycans
Jerrycans were needed to put out fires caused by bombs with efficiency and much more ease than before. They were also portable which made them a great tool for both sides of the war, especially as air bombing was becoming much more common and used much more frequently.
Penicillin
Penicillin was known as a ‘miracle drug’ in war, and saved a countless number of soldiers both from the Axis and Allied forces. Penicillin would treat certain infections caused by bacteria that could spread rapidly when the victim was in harsh conditions – which most soldiers out at war were experiencing (harsh conditions and environments).
