Answer: Sara Penn is a very patient person, for she waited for more than 40 years until she really expressed her true attitude. when she decides to move to the barn she is shown by the writer to be a woman with an ability to make her own decisions, and the way she stood up for the minister shows that she knows what she's doing, and that it wasn't an easy decision.
