Given, AE = 2 m, DA = 3m, BD = 30 m

AB = DB – DA

     = 30 m – 3 m

AB = 27 m

ΔACD and ΔAED are similar triangles.

If two triangles are similar then their corresponding sides are in proportional.

[tex]$\frac{AD}{DB} = \frac{AE}{BC} $[/tex]

[tex]$\frac{3}{30} = \frac{2}{x} $[/tex]

Do cross multiplication, we get

[tex]3\times x = 2\times 30[/tex]

[tex]3x= 60[/tex]

Divide by 3 on both sides of the expression, we get

x = 20

The tall of the tree is 20 feet.
