Answer:

Plants and fungi share some similarities as well as some differences.

Some of the differences between plant and fungal cells are:

1) The cell wall of plants is made up of cellulose. The cell wall of fungal cells is made up of chitin.

2) The plant cells can make their own food and are autotrophic. Fungal cells are heterotrophic and take in their food for energy.

3) Organelles such as chloroplast are absent in fungal cells.

What is Pressurized Plant?

Pressurized plants are the plants with exclusive Xylem and Phloem which are used for the transportation of water or food substances.

Xylem:

Xylem are the plant vascular tissue that conveys water and dissolved minerals from the roots to the rest of the plant and also provides physical support.

Phloem:

Phloem is the vascular tissue in charge of transport and distribution of the organic nutrients. The phloem is also a pathway to signaling molecules and has a structural function in the plant body.

What is Fungi?

A fungus is heterotrophs , different from Plantae kingdom and acquire their food by absorbing dissolved molecules by secreting digestive enzymes into their environment.

These are group of eukaryotes which includes yeast , molds and mushrooms.

A significant characteristics of this group is:

- Their Cell Wall is made up of Chitin

- They do not photosynthesize.

What is the difference between Plants and Fungi?

1. Plants are autotrophic eukaryotes whereas Fungi are heterotrophic eukaryotes

2. Plants are producers in a food chain and Fungi are the decomposers in food chain.

3. Plant's cell wall is made up of Cellulose whereas the cell wall of fungi is made of Chitin.

4. The food stored in plant is in the form of Starch whereas Glycogen is stored as food in Fungi.

5. Plants contain chlorophyll whereas Fungi lacks it.

6. Plants have roots, leaves and stems whereas the Fungal body includes hyphae which interconnect to form mycelium.

7. Mode of Reproduction:

   In Plants:

Sexual reproduction – Fusion of male and female gametes happen to produce offspring.

Asexual reproduction – The two major types are apomixis and vegetative propagation.

   In Fungi:

Sexual reproduction – The cytoplasm and nucleus of the two-parent cells fuse to form a gamete. They undergo meiosis to produce spores.

Asexual reproduction – This happens through spores, budding or fragmentation.
