Equivalent Expression

Step-by-step explanation:

Equivalent equations are algebraic equations that have identical solutions or roots. Adding or subtracting the same number or expression to both sides of an equation produces an equivalent equation. Multiplying or dividing both sides of an equation by the same non-zero number produces an equivalent equation.

Example

1.x^2-9=(x+3)(x-3) are equivalent?

Yes both are same

(x+3)(x-3)= multiplying term by term gives you =x^-9

Therefore, the two expressions are equivalent.

2.Are the two expressions 6(2a+b)6(2a+b) and 12a+6b12a+6b equivalent?

Using  the  Distributive Law

6(2a+b)=6×2a+6×b =12a+6b6(2a+b)=6×2a+6×b  =12a+6b

Therefore, the two expressions are equivalent.
