So I was wondering, I started volleyball my Freshman year of high school, (I got hooked on it, loved it ever since.) Now that I am a senior and I am too old for doing club volleyball, (i never did club volleyball) can colleges still recruit me even though I do not have club experience. I know college is on a whole different level then high school but i want to try and make it on a D3 college team

Respuesta :

The correct answer is; Depending on the college and their requirements it is possible to be recruited without playing actively on the club volleyball team.

Further Explanation:

In the past, recruiters would come to schools and watch live games of players to recruit them. Now with technology, players can send videos of themselves playing volleyball competitively with a group of others. This can show your skills playing with a team. Also, you can send a video of skills that you believe will help the team that the recruiter may be looking for. You can also send a letter and explain your reasons for wanting to play at the college level.

You can also contact the college of your choice and ask about open try-outs for volleyball. Make sure to ask about any requirements that you need. If you make the team, you may be able to get a scholarship for the next year.
