It is filled with grass lands and highly supports DRY FARMING AND RANCHING.The Homestead Act signed by Abraham Lincoln in 1862 giving willing settlers 160acres of land with a small filling fee, and permanent ownership for those staying contiously for five years and above encouraged people to move to the Great plains. The great plains is rich in mineral resources like COAL, NATURAL GAS,OIL,POTASH etc which encouraged people to move.
