Athenian tyrant was a strict and oppressive ruler. The goal of this ruler was to rule the oppressed ones.
However, poor people and merchants didn’t hate these rulers. They were good leaders, they had a good army and people supported them. While a tyranny ruled Athens, the city had peace and prosperity. They were helping the economy of the city and the poor.
