3. Do you think that any of the current punishments deter or reduce crime? Why or why not? Which
punishment do you think is most likely to reduce crime in society?
Help ASAP

Respuesta :

The rate of reduction of crime purely depends on the self value / self discipline only.

Explanation:

Since there is no option and the question is general, let me give you my own perspective.

Punishments is one source where we can tell partially that crimes are reduced.

There are certain factors viz.

  • severity of the punishment against the crime
  • loop holes that the criminals use
  • the culture that is followed
  • break in culture

So, punishment alerts people but unless there is a self-discipline then change is impossible.

Answer:

I think the current punishments do reduce crime rates. Currently, most people who commit crimes have had a history of abuse, or mental disorder. Because of this, they may not think through their actions and the consequences to them, so they are more likely to commit a crime. However, if we didn’t have any punishment for crimes, it would turn into the Wild West and everyone would just do what they want simply because they can, unless they were taught to follow morals. I think simple jail time as punishment is a very effective way of reducing crime in society.
