Answer:
A review of the First Amendment
Explanation:
There is a need for the US congress to review the First amendment, establishing the measure of freedom of speech guaranteed.
Following the four significant Supreme court cases dating from 1969 to the most recent in 2006,it can be presumed that schools responses as well as the Supreme court response to student speech cases on public and high school student's practiced freedom of speech, have led to a narrowing down of student’s protection under the First Amendment as a result of the increasing spotlight on schooling over the past forty years.
Advantage: If the measure of Freedom of speech is established, both Students and Adults in a School environment are able to understand their limits clearly, and this will prevent Students from testing beyond their limits as they will be culpable.
Limitation: It is hard to define this limit, because of the peculiarity of the School environment and other environments too.
The decision give in Morse vs Fredrick case has an advantage that school authorities can prevent student from promoting illegal use of drugs and the disadvantage is that the freedom of speech is not well-defined.
