during this time the great awakening was going on. the great awakening is when region started spreading like wild fires. the religious leaders were basing their rules off the bible which gave them lots if ideas on how to behave and have good morals. some of the things these leaders noticed that were sinful was slavery and women's rights. because of this woman joined large religious groups called social reform groups. they preached and taught everyone about their beliefs and ideals. this inspired women to stand up for what they believed and made them stronger and more independent. so other women would go and share their own ideals and beliefs with the world.
