In the first sentence, it is possible to analyze that Verizon Wireless is a company that provides cell phone and wireless connection services, reason why for them in order to increase their popularity and sales, it is beneficial to say that the quality of customer service provided by companies of its kind has increase. In this case, the reader is not appreciating scientific evidence and reliable information.

In the second sentence, Angelina Jolie, a very famous and important actress; is used as a n authority character. Even Though, the specific topic is not her specialty, she is used to express some political ideas in order to catch the audience attention. The criteria is only based in her opinion as a public figure, not because of specific data about the topic itself.
