Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite were all fighting over an apple. It was marked, “for the fairest.” So, naturally, they fought over it. They went to Zeus so he could settle it. Hera was Zeus’s wife, so he didn’t want to make her mad. He asked Paris, Prince of Troy, a mortal, to do it. They all tried to bribe him into choosing him. Aphrodite promised him the love of the most beautiful woman in the world. The Judgement of Paris was said to be the cause of the Trojan War.
