What was the reason why our founding fathers decided there should be two parts to Congress? Describe the state “plans” that established each part.

Respuesta :

They decided on a bi-cameral legislative to be able to prevent too much power from one side it provides further checks and balances with in the system furthering the probability of another monarchy. The plans are the VIRGINIA PLAN-for larger states they believed in proportional representation their motto was basically “more people more votes” therefore more representation in Congress in current day this is the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.The second plan was called the NEW JERSEY PLAN-for smaller states they believed in equal representation they believed the virgins plan would limit the number of representatives in Congress in current day they are know as the SENATE.
