Adenosine triphosphate - ATP, is a molecule that carries energy in stored form.
ATP is the energy currency of the cell, and it is formed in plant cells from a process called photophosphorylation in which a phosphate group is added to a molecule(ADP-Adenosine diphosphate) using energy from light. All living organisms weather it is plants, animals, microbes etc. uses ATP.
In Photosynthesis; plants, few species of bacteria and some protistans use sunlight as energy source and produces glucose from carbon dioxide and water.
This glucose formed in photosynthesis can be converted into pyruvate and further to carbon dioxide which releases ATP by cellular respiration.
Result: Plant synthesize ATP which is main source of energy.
