Musa made his pilgrimage in 1324, reporting that her procession includes 60,000 men, 12,000 black slaves, all dressed in silk carrying gold vases, horses, and sacks. Musa provided all the necessities for a process, feeding the whole company of men and animals. There were also 80 camels, which carried between 50 and 300 pounds of gold dust each. Musa not only gave to the cities that pass by the way of Mecca, including Cairo and Medina, but also traded gold for souvenirs. In addition, it was reported that he built a mosque on Friday every day, then was destroyed.
Musa's journey has been documented by several eyewitnesses along its route, who were timeless of their wealth and extensive process, and there are records from various sources, including newspapers, oral accounts, and stories. Musa is known for visiting the Mamluk Sultan of Nazar Muhammad of Egypt in July 1324.
His Haje is one of the most remembered in history, during which he stopped in Egypt and gave so much gold that the Egyptian economy was ruined for 20 years.
