SLOPE THEORY OF TECHNIQUES

Planet Earth consists of many layers. The upper layer of the earth is a rigid and rigid part that is in a layer that is plastic or liquid. This causes the upper surface layer of the earth to become unstable and always moves in accordance with the movements underneath. This situation is the background of the birth of the theory of Plate Tectonics. The birth of the tectonic plate theory in 1968 is the latest reality in geology which shows the evolution of the shape of the earth's surface.

We can distinguish Tectonic Plates into 3 types, namely:

1. CONVERGENCE

Convergence is a movement in which the two plates get closer so that a collision can occur. This collision can result in one plate that will pierce underneath the other plate. This phenomenon of collision can occur on continental plates and oceanic plates.

2. DIVERGENCY

Divergence is a movement in which the two plates get farther and farther away. The area between the two plates that are far away from each other will later be filled with new plates.

3. TRANSFORM

Horizontal fault movement is the movement between two plates that are close together but do not collide. In this incident, there is only friction between the two plates so that frequent large-scale earthquakes occur.

Explanation:

1. in the world there are seven earth plates whereas in Indonesia itself it is located on three plates namely the Eurasian Continent Plate, the Indo-Australian Ocean Plate, and the Pacific Ocean Plate. The plates do not occur by themselves but go through several stages of the process.
