a lot of people (including you, i'm assuming, and including me) find cockroaches nasty and completely useless, especially when we have to pay pest control money to get rid of them.
but roaches, despite their disgusting appearance and seemingly useless nature, actually do have a purpose, and a good one.
most cockroaches feed on decaying organic matter, and that releases a lot of nitrogen.
this is the gross part :p
cockroaches feeding on this has the effect of releasing that nitrogen, from their feces, which then gets absorbed into the soil and is used by plants during photosynthesis, i'm pretty sure.
anyway yeah, so, roaches might be gross and crawly and stuff, but they're very useful to plants and generally nature uwu
