Respuesta :
Xinjiang, Chechnya, and Quebec are all regions that wanted or still want to gain independence, using different methods to achieve that.
Explanation:
Xinjiang is a Chinese province in the northwestern part of the country, with the Uyghurs being its native population, and they want to become independent from China because of cultural difference. Chechnya is Russian autonomous region that wanted to become independent and form Islamic Chechen state through violence. Quebec is a Canadian province that is culturally different from the rest of Canada and has tried to gain independence through referendums.
Xinjiang's native population is consisted of the Muslim Turkic peoples, the Uyghurs. Because of the differences with the Chinese, the Uyghurs wanted independence and organized numerous protests. The Chinese government didn't tolerated that and acted fast and brutally, destroying all protests and shutting down all independence movements.
Chechnya wanted independence because of its ethnic and religious differences with Russia. Unfortunately, the Chechen people were led to war with Russia by terrorists, Islamic extremists, which prompted military response from Russia and all of Chechnya was leveled with ground. Nowadays the relations are actually very good between the two sides.
Quebec is a province in Canada that has mostly French population with French culture, thus making it different from the rest of Canada. The people of Quebec did not identify themselves with Canada and they want their own country. They have tried numerous times, through the local officials, in peaceful manner, through referendums, to gain independence. While the referendums were successful, the Canadian high court discards them as illegal.
