We find the slope by dividing changes in the y coordinate by the changes in the x coordinate:
[tex]\dfrac{-5-0}{2-1}=\dfrac{-5}{1}=-5[/tex]
So, our line comes in the form
[tex]y=-5x+b[/tex]
Plug in one of the (x,y) pairs from the table to get the value of b. For example, if we use the first row we have
[tex]0=-5\cdot 1+b \iff b=5[/tex]
So, the equation of the line is
[tex]y=-5x+5[/tex]
