active transport is different from diffusion (passive transport) because: during diffusion it’s moving ions from high concentration to low concentration using no metabolic energy. remember it like a skateboard going down a hill it doesn’t take much energy. during active transport ions are being transported from low concentration to high concentration using metabolic energy in the form of atp. remember this like a skateboard going up a hill, it takes a lot of energy. hope this helps!
