Start with a little bit of information on the topic. This is because when someone reads the article/ letter (whatever your writing) it gives the reader a brief idea of the topic!
There are five different types of introductions:
• Inquisitive: asking a question
•Paradoxical: any statement that at first reading seems contradictory, but upon further reflection, one must admit as true.
• Corrective: correcting a misconseption that someone might have
• Preparatory: listing facts about the discussion
• Narrative: Begining with a story
Depending on the context, any one of these introductions may be accepted.
