y intercept is when x=0, so y₀=0/(0²-4) = 0.

x intercept is when y=0, so 0=x₀/(x₀²-4) so. multiplying both sides by x₀²-4 we conclude x₀=0.

They're both zero, so x₀=y₀

That's it.
