Upwards of 50 thousand Australians served in the Vietnam war. Many died in what is commonly known as the Vietnam slaughter. Since the war, a vibrant community of Vietnam-Australians have emerged within Australia. They have influenced different aspects of culture since their arrival such as food and politics.
