As the Earth revolves around the Sun, it is also rotating. If it didn’t rotate, one side would have burning hot conditions and the other side freezing cold. Thanks to Earth’s rotation (and revolving) we have day and night.
Because it rotates around the earth at the exact same speed as it rotates around its own axis, so that the same side of the moon is constantly facing the surface of the earth.
