Answer:

After a woman reaches puberty, and especially when she starts her reproductive cycle, it is important for her to have an annual exam that is known as the Annual Well Woman exam. Basically, this is an exam in which the doctor will focus on two particular areas of a woman´s body: breasts and the reproductive system (pelvic organs of reproduction).

During this examination, the doctor will focus on the physical examination and also diagnostic testing of both regions, to ensure that the woman´s reproductive health is in order. Aside from the physical examination, there will be an interview process and discussion on lifestyles of the woman being examined, as well as education on the topics related to both areas regarding breast cancer, and the health conditions that may affect the reproductive system.

As for the physical exam, the doctor will check the following: breasts, pelvic region, there may be a request for a mammogram depending on age, and also a diagnostic test known as a Pap smear that will help with HPV screaning and possible uterine cancer.
