Kwame Nkrumah expressed freedom or autonomy and for the people to determine their own government. On the 6th of March, he spoke to thousands of people and said that "we have a duty to prove to the world that Africans can conduct their own affairs with efficiency and tolerance and through exercise of democracy. We must set as an example to Africa."
