Personally, I'd argue the devils advoicate standpoint and say that a lot of people are against holding animals in zoos but you can argue that zoos are a form of advocacy for animals. If people never see any of these animals they will never have a personal connection to them. Human nature is out of sight, out of mind. So if no one ever see's these animals they would be less protected because majority of people wouldn't care about them because of their lack of personal connection. A con can be they are confined in a small area, and you could throw in a statistic about how they are more depressed in zoos.
