Without consent, French ceded Indian lands to the British. 1763- Pontiac's Rebellion, in which Indians of the Ohio Vally and Great Lakes revolted against the British from an idea all Indians were a single people and only by working together, they could regain their independence. To prevent further Indian conflict, the British established the Proclamation Line.
