We won't be using the given point (-6,1), since it won't really help us to get our answer.

[tex]y-\dfrac{2}{3} x=3[/tex]

Add 2/3x to both sides of the equation.

[tex]y-\dfrac{2}{3} x+\dfrac{2}{3} x=3+\dfrac{2}{3} x[/tex]

The 2/3x on the left side will cancel each other out.

[tex]y=\dfrac{2}{3} x+3[/tex]

This equation is in the form y=mx+b, which is slope intercept form.

Let me know if you need any clarifications, thanks!
