Easiest way is to flip the divisor and multply.

4/9 divided by 1/3
is the same as 4/9 times 3/1

Should be pretty easy to go the rest of the way yourself.

a/b divided by c/d=a/b time d/c
the reason it works is

you have
[tex] \frac{ \frac{4}{9} }{ \frac{1}{3} } [/tex]
fractions in the denomenator is scary
make it one
remember that a/b times b/a=1 so 1/3 times 3/1=1
times the whole thing by 1 to keep is same
[tex] \frac{ \frac{4}{9} }{ \frac{1}{3} } [/tex] times [tex] \frac{ \frac{3}{1} }{ \frac{3}{1} } [/tex]=
[tex] \frac{ (\frac{4}{9})(\frac{3}{1}) }{ (\frac{1}{3})(\frac{3}{1}) } [/tex]=
[tex] \frac{ \frac{12}{9} }{ \frac{3}{3} } [/tex]=
[tex] \frac{ \frac{12}{9} }{ 1} [/tex]=
12/9=4/3

reault is 4/3
