Teens may not practice sexual abstinence for several reasons. Peer pressure could be encouraging them to engage in sexual activities or pressure from their partners. Their hormones are having a huge influence on thoughts and behaviors and they might simply want to have sex and experiment as their bodies are telling them to. Media influences, things they watch or read giving them ideas and encouraging them to have sex.
