exponential laws
$(x^{m})^{n}=x^{mn}$
$x^{\frac{m}{n}}=\sqrt[n]{x^{m}}$

so
(m^(2/3))^(1/2)=m^(2/3 times 1/2)=m^(2/6)=m^(1/3)= $\sqrt[3]{m^{1}}$= $\sqrt[3]{m}$
