Isostasy means a adjustment or balancing equation in the history of the earth surface as we all know there is a flowage of matter from above to the matter downwards that does inside the mantel and mets and as a result leads to formation of the certain layers of earth crust.
The earth crust is able to stay in balance as a result of the continuous flow of matter from below which acts as to keep a bance of the heavier and denser rock mass from the below to the lighter and less dense on surface.
Like the example of Isostasy of mount Himalayas, the existence of roots below the himalayas on which entire structure stands and grows
