In Edgar Allan Poe's, "The Tell Tale Heart," the narrator is considered by many to be mentally ill, with some even saying he is insane. In the case of Hemy Neuman, his defense team claims he is innocent based on the grounds of insanity. Should our justice system take a person's mental state into account when considering sentencing for acts of murder, or do you think someone should receive a full prison sentence regardless of whether or not they are insane. Explain your answer to the question using evidence from "The Tell Tale Heart."

Instead of completing in full jail time. People with mental illness should also take part in going into a rehab center or a mental illness hospital to help seek the help they wouldn't receive in jail. It'll help them recover from their sickness or receive the right medication for it. Edgar could've done the same if it was an option at the time.
